Meet at the church at 10:30am on Jan 3. We will LEAVE at 11:00am.

Cost: $38.00/person

What to pack:

It could rain that weekend. Make sure your gear is weather protected (plastic bags, waterproof pacxks, etc)


We have Mixon's Hammock reserved in the Okefenokee Swamp for January 4. I have reserved for 25 (the limit), of which 5 will need to be adults. I will make reservations at Stephen C. Foster State Park soon.

Canoes will rent from 8:00 am Saturday until 5:00 pm on Sunday, although I suspect we will want to be out long before then to back to Athens.

Campsites at Stephen C. will be $15 with a max. of 6 people per camp site. Parking for cars will be $5.00. I figure we will need a minimum of 5 and most likely 6 vehicles (less if we take the van). Canoe rentals will be $30.00 each, and I assume we will want to put only 2 persons per boat.

CAMP AT STATE PARK ON JAN. 3.

ON JAN 4, 2 PATROLS OF 21 SCOUTS AND ADULTS WILL CAMP ON MIXONS HAMMOCK IN THE SWAMP AND RETURN TO STATE PARK ON JAN. 5.

LEAVE STATE PARK AT APPROXIMATELY 1:00 PM ON JAN. 6.

ARRIVE AT CHURCH AT APPROXIMATELY 7:00 PM. ON JAN 6.
