Snow Ski Trip 2003
The skiing trip was a success. We didn’t leave on Friday as planned because of rain at Beech, the mountain we went to. It was raining when we got to the church where we stayed, but over night it snowed about two or three inches deep.
Our car doors were frozen shut, and it was hard to get two mini-vans up that icy mountain, but we managed. At the top of the mountain the wind was blowing really hard.
Everyone except two people skied. The other two were allowed to snowboard. We had natural snow from last night and the snow blowers made snow too. The wind cleared up later and we were on the mountain before all the resort people did so we had the mountain to ourselves for a while. Several scouts learned how to ski for the first time and several scouts worked on their merit badge. The skiing went well and most of us really enjoyed the conditions.
We met at 2:30, got pictures taken and piled into the vans to leave. On the way home we stopped at the Golden Coral, like always, and had no more stops until we reached Friendship Church at 9:30.
