Hi all, we had a good (and not rainy!) weekend at the Order of the Arrow Pow-Wow up at Camp Rainey Mtn. Attendees from our troop: Mike & Andrew F, Bill, Billy & John O, Don & Stephen S, Paul M, Corey G, Zach H, Jonathan S, & Jeremy T. We were glad to have this group there as it constituted almost the entire representation from our district!
Our Scouts had the chance to learn more about OA, and got to compete in the "Quest for the Black Bear" activities, excelling especially in the Egg Toss (1st place) and the foot race (2nd). They also got to do some Indian dancing and drumming, perform some service around camp, learn new card games and interact with lots of spiders in the adirondacks!
I am happy to announce that the chapter elections also resulted in our Troop providing leadership for next year's OA activities in Ani-gatogewi chapter. Billy O will be the Chapter Chief; 2 of the vice chiefs for membership will be Corey and John O; Zach will be Chapter Secretary; Stephen will be vice chief for Indian affairs; Jonathan continues to be our troop's OA Representative; and Jeremy is part of the Lodge's technology committee. So, we expect a great year! Those OA members who were not able to attend Pow-Wow will also have plenty of opportunities to provide leadership and service.
